THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST MULTI-SPORT ADVENTURE
Dates: September 7 - 16, 2018
States: Arizona, Nevada & Utah
Maximum Trip Capacity: 7 people
Age Range: 18 - 34
Day 1: Nevada Desert Gems
Heading out of Las Vegas in the morning, we head for a short hike to a mountain summit overlooking Red Rock Canyon and the surrounding desert. Along the way to Utah, we stop at an infamous desert park with spectacular rock formations for sunset.
Day 2: Ultimate Canyoneering Adventure
We start off the day in Zion National Park, which contains the amazing terrain and abundant water supply needed for an epic guided canyoneering excursion. The day continues as we hike up a slot canyon in ankle-deep water, to reach a picturesque waterfall.
Day 3: Utah's National Park Treasure
A few of my favorite hikes in the USA are located in Zion National Park, and on this day we have the pleasure to experience 2 of them. We start by heading up the Virgin River into a slot canyon with impressive 2,000 foot vertical walls on either side. For sunset, we hike up a narrow cliff formation to an infamous viewpoint.
Day 4: ATVing Sand Dunes & Navajo Nation
We fire up our pre-selected ATVs or UTVs and head for the sand dunes of southern Utah for half a day. In the latter half of the day, we enter Arizona and visit the most fabled landmarks of the Navajos including Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.
Day 5: Exploring Lake Powell
A powerboat will be waiting for us on the shores of Lake Powell, which we will use to cruise the waters of one of the largest reservoirs in North America, all surrounded by majestic landscapes. Activities include a short hike to the widest natural bridge on Earth as well as optional cliff jumping and swimming.
Day 6: Sunrise in The Grand(est) Canyon
On this day, we set our alarms super early as we head into the dark abyss of The Grand Canyon before dawn. After catching sunrise, the group has optional excursion choices included a scenic airpline flight, mule ride or simply relaxing a bit. We catch sunset with views of the highest peaks in Arizona.
Day 7: Sedona a.k.a. Red Rock Country
Two of Sedona's most adventurous and picturesque hikes are done on this day, one of which is pictured in the gallery below. A mid-day break is taken for cliff jumping and tanning at a nearby water hole. Dinner options include rattlesnake appetizers and pricky pear margaritas.
Day 8: "Sin City" Celebration
Driving out of Sedona, we complete our grand tour loop and head back to Las Vegas, stopping at a Native American arts and crafts market, the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead along the way. Farewell Party, starting in our suites and heading out to one of the clubs on The Strip (but who actually knows).
Day 9: Colorado River Relaxation
A relaxing day after our celebrations the previous night, we head to a perfect spot on the Colorado River for tanning, swimming and cliff jumping. Dinner at a historic saloon serving local cuisine to cap off the epic adventure.
