THE BELIZEAN TROPICAL ADVENTURE
Dates: August 10 - 18, 2019
Countries: Belize & Guatemala
Maximum Trip Capacity: 7 people
Age Group: 18 - 34
Day 1: The Adventure Begins
Touching down on this Central American gem, we head west straight into the mountains of Belize. We even make a stop at “The Best Little Zoo in the World”, a sanctuary devoted to protecting Wildcats, Monkeys and Tropical Birds in need of help. We end our day in our jungle lodge accommodations.
Day 2: Ultimate Caving Experience
Without wasting time, we embark on what may be the most epic guided 1 day excursion in the entire nation. Equipped with headlamps and tubes, we float down a river which quickly disappears into an underground cave system as we float past stalactites, stalagmites and even waterfalls. Think “Journey to the Center of the Earth”.
Day 3: Guatemala's Ancient Mayan City
A brief break from adrenaline-packed activities, we cross the border into Guatemala to explore Tikal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that may very well contain the most impressive Mayan ruins in all of Central America, a lot of which have yet to be discovered. Time permitting, we end our day relaxing by waterfalls in Belize's only pine forest, where swimming and jumping is definitely an option.
Day 4: Cocoa Farms & The Caribbean
Heading towards the Caribbean Sea, we visit a local cocoa farm where chocolate is made, one of Belize's main exports. From harvesting to the end product, we get to witness methods that the Maya have been using for thousands of years. We finish off our drive at our next accomadations, which just happen to be right on a sandy Caribbean beach.
Day 5: Cayes, Nurse Sharks & Stingrays
A visit to Belize wouldn’t be complete without paying a visit to the world’s largest double barrier reef a.k.a. the ultimate playground for marine life. To take it all in, we depart our seaside village by boat and head for tiny islands known as “cayes” in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. From here, we snorkel in search for harmless marine animals such as Nurse Sharks, Stingrays and enormous Sea Turtles.
Day 6: Full Moon Ziplining
On this day, we have some free time to explore our town which is home to some of the best atmosphere in Belize, lined with shops and restaurants running alongside sandy beaches. On our way to our main attraction, we stop at Belize’s original banana farm to learn a few things about the growing process of our beloved fruit. What's next is a very unique jungle experience. On this evening, we zipline the longest cables in Belize.. at night, under a full moon. Following this, we go on a guided jungle night hike and try our luck at spotting nocturnal animals in their natural habitat.
Day 7: Jaguar Kingdom
Hopefully you’re rested this day as we commit to what may be the most strenuous activity of this Adventure.. A trek through the jungle with the highest concentration of wildcats in the world (Jaguars, Ocelots, etc.), we may even spot one if we get really lucky. The climax of the hike is reaching a ridge summit, from which we’ll take in views of the jungles of Belize and the Caribbean Sea.
Day 8: Tropical Beach Relaxation & Excursions
To end the epic adventure, we can enjoy a relaxing last day on the white sand beaches of our village. However, those who haven’t had enough will have the time to go on a variety of epic excursions, including Scuba Diving or kayaking down a jungle river. Farewell Party after the sun goes down.
Day 9: Farewell Belize
Unfortunately, at this point it’ll be time to pack and head back to the airport, possibly hungover.
